<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Canterville <br />City Council held their second budget meeting on August 18, 1987 <br />at City Hall. Mayor L'Allier called the meeting to order at 7:05 <br />p.m. Present: Fritchie, Wilharber, Laska, Neumann. <br /> <br />Motion by Fritchie, second by Laska to approve the minutes of the <br />July 28, 1987 budget meeting, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Neumann to approve the appeals <br />letter to the Department of Revenue as prepared by the City <br />Clerk, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Council was in favor of granting a stipend of $10.00 per meeting <br />for liaisons of Park and Recreation Committee and Planning and <br />Zoning Commission. Consensus also appeared to be that Council <br />members should receive mileage for extra meetings. <br /> <br />City Clerk will double check to see if Maintenance and <br />Miscellaneous Expense could carryover for Park and Recreation <br />Committee for each year. Council recommends that Park and <br />Recreation try to work with $13,000 for 1988 budget. <br /> <br />City Clerk will check on insurance policies for employees through <br />the League of Minnesota Cities for future reference. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Neumann to direct City Clerk to <br />advertise for an Assistant City Clerk for $5.50 per hour, $6.00 <br />after 90 probationary period if appropriate, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Fritchie to hire Debra Gonsior as <br />a part time, on call, temporary employee to do projects in her <br />home as deemed necessary and appropriate for $8.25 per hour, <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Neumann, second by Fritchie to direct City Clerk to <br />obtain bids from several photocopy companies to compare to the <br />Canon bid, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Fritchie, second by Wilharber to direct City Clerk to <br />obtain a petty cash account to contain no more than $100.00, <br />usable with the single signature of the City Clerk for <br />miscellaneous office supplies, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Discussion of pay raises for Deputy Clerk and City Clerk <br />effective September 1, 1987. Mayor L'Allier advised Clerk to <br />prepare a statement to show proof that monies do exist in the <br />1987 budget. This will be discussed at August 19, 1987 meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Fritchie, second by Wilharber to adjourn the meeting, <br />motion carried unanimously.
