<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the City Council of the <br />City of Centerville held their regular meeting on October 28, <br />1987. Mayor L~Allier called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. <br />Present: Laska, Neumann, Wilharber, Fritchie. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Neumann to accept the minutes of <br />the September 22, 1987 public hearing meeting, aye: Wilharber, <br />Neumann) Fritchie, L~Allier; nay: Laska, motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Fritchie, second by Wilharber to accept the minutes of <br />the October 7, 1987 special meeting, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Fritchie to accept the minutes of <br />the October 14, 1987 regular meeting, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />APPEARANCES <br />Larry Koch and Norman Fritchie, Fire Commission members appeared <br />before the Council to update them on the Centennial Fire <br />Commission. Commission member Fritchie noted that Station 2 is <br />now occupied, a response is due from the September 26, 1987 <br />letter from the Centennial Fire District regarding Station 3, and <br />that three applicants have been received for the position of <br />Chairperson for the Centennial Fire Commission. <br /> <br />Council member Fritchie expressed concern on the lack of proper <br />procedure to occupy Station 2. Don Marier Lino Lakes Council <br />member, Larry Koch Fire Commission member and Andy Neal Fire <br />Commission member expressed support for the opening of Station 2. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Discussion of Centerville Heights project. Carol Pelton, Park <br />and Recreation Committee Chairperson questioned the variance to <br />monetary compensation for the easements on the park land and <br />recommended that a representative from the Park and Recreation <br />Committee be involved in the decision of the placement of the <br />water tower on the park. <br /> <br />Motion by Fritchie, second by Wilharber that the park in <br />Centerville Heights will be 1.9 acres (this excludes the land <br />underneath the pond); Harstad Companies will pay $6,697.45 in <br />park dedication fees in addition to the 1.9 acres designated as <br />park land for the Centerville Heights development, motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Motion by Neumann, second by Fritchie to adapt a resolution , <br />authorizing filing of application and execution of grant project,~ <br />agreement to develop open space under the provision of the State <br />Bonded Fund for Central Park, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Discussion of proposed Sorel Street Extension.
