<br />City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting <br />June 11, 2008 <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that the homeowner would sign an agreement that it <br />would be done by 2009. <br /> <br />City Attorney Glaser suggested that the City Staff enter into an Agreement for the <br />assessment waiver and allowing the repairs to the well, with the understanding that their <br />assessment waiver does not exceed $8,000. <br /> <br />6 Police Jurisdiction <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee stated that Officer Aldridge said Centerville police could not go to <br />assist in Hugo because Hugo is not in their jurisdiction. He inquired whether there is <br />some way that jurisdiction issues could be amended. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra replied that if there is a call for assistance, they can go. <br /> <br />City Attorney Glaser stated that they do not have a Joint Powers Agreement between the <br />Centennial Lakes Police and the City of Hugo.. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee suggested that this be put on the agenda for the next meeting <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated that there should not be all these "hoops" to jump through in order <br />for our officers to assist. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee stated that when the 35W bridge collapsed, it took a week before <br />they could send help. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson stated that Hugo asked Washington County to relay the <br />message for assistance to Anoka County, but the message was never relayed to Anoka <br />County. <br /> <br />City Attorney Glaser stated that communication has been a problem. He added that they <br />would see a County-wide response to this. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated that this got the attention of a lot of people, and pointed out how we <br />needed to be better prepared. <br /> <br />City Attorney Glaser stated that it educated Washington County that Mutual Aid had to <br />be requested before they could help. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated that the issue is liability.
