Centervi{{eJ M'l{ 55038 <br />(651) 429-3232 . ifa~ (651) 429-8629 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #02 - 069 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CENTENNIAL LAKES POLICE <br />COMMISSION AUTHORITY TO INCUR COSTS NOT TO EXCEED $30,000, <br />PRO-RATED BY THE US CENSUS POPULATION ESTIMATE OF EACH CITY, <br />TO REQUEST PROPOSALS, HIRE INDEPENDENT CONSULTANTS, <br />PREPARE FINDINGS AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO SOLVE THE <br />IMMEDIA TE HEALTH CONCERNS FOR EMPLOYEES AND DETERMINE <br />LONG TERM RECOMMENDATIONS FOR POLICE FACILITIES. <br /> <br />THE CITY OF CENTERVILLE RESOLVES: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the employees of the Centennial Lakes Police Department voice their <br />concerns through a signed letter dated November 14, 2002; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Commission deems health and safety issues an urgent priority; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Commission does not have a line item in the 2003 budget; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Commission does not have the required staff or expertise to <br />address the concerns stated in the employee letter dated November 14; and <br /> <br />THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that the Cities of Centerville, Circle Pines <br />and Lexington authorize the Centennial Lakes Police Commission, authority to incur <br />costs not to exceed $30,000, pro-rated by the US Census population estimate of each city, <br />to prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs), hire independent consultants, prepare findings, <br />and make recommendations to solve the immediate health concerns of employees and <br />determine long-term recommendations for police facilities; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Finance Director of the City of Centerville <br />will prepare all of the necessary Request for Proposal criteria and documentation in <br />cooperation with the Police Commission and Chief: advertise the request and properly <br />award the contract; and <br />
