<br />An employee may be suspended pending an investigation of an allegation. <br />If the allegation is proven false after an investigation, the relevant written <br />documents will be removed from the personnel file and the employee will <br />receive any compensation to which he/she would have been due had the <br />suspension not taken place. <br /> <br />For any suspension, or any second suspension for the same individual, <br />the City Council shall review the reasons for the suspension and upon <br />review, will make a recommendation as to the future status of the <br />employee and his/her continued employment with the City. <br /> <br />D. Dismissal. <br />The City Council may dismiss any at its discretion. The dismissal notice <br />shall be in writing and shall contain the reason for dismissal. <br /> <br />17.3 Reasons for Dismissal <br /> <br />Subject to state law on Veteran's Preference and Minn. Stat. Sections 181.931 - <br />181.935, the City Council may, at its discretion, dismiss an employee for reasons <br />including but not limited to, substandard work performance, behavior not in <br />keeping with City standards, or if in their judgment, the employee is unsuited for <br />employment with the City. <br /> <br />Removal of veterans may be made only for incompetence or misconduct shown <br />after a hearing with due notice (M.S. 197.46). <br /> <br />18 SEXUAL HARASSMENT <br /> <br />18.1 General <br /> <br />The City of Centerville is committed to providing a working environment free of <br />harassment and discrimination. In keeping with this commitment, the City <br />maintains a strict policy prohibiting unlawful harassment, including sexual <br />harassment. This policy prohibits harassment in any form, including verbal and <br />physical harassment. This policy apples to all employees. <br /> <br />This policy statement is intended to make all employees sensitive to the matter of <br />sexual harassment, to express the City's strong disapproval of unlawful sexual <br />harassment, to advise employees of their behavioral obligations and to inform <br />them of their rights. <br /> <br />27 <br />
