79 The City Council of the City of Centerville held a special meeting on Wednesday, August 2~, 1975 in the City Hall. Mayor Prachar called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm. Councilmen presents Burque, L'A1lier, Murray and Peterson. Mr. Lawrence, Business Manager for the Centennial School District #12 was present to discuss a joint venture of the school and the city for use of a ballfield in back of the Centerville Elementary school for Little League in the summer. Mr. Lawrence was to get the council a map of the area for our further study and discuss project with school board and other interested parties. George Haberman had requested some work done in front of his house on Mill Road where the road was washing away. Clerk was to call North Central Service to indicate where the gas line ran in front of house, call Wollin for some grading and have some rock brought in. Mayor Prachar contacted Mr. McLean of Lino Lakes on the proposed bike trail system for the City of Lino which trail would go through parts of Centerville. Bike trail system was just in the nroposed stages and Lino had not gotten permission from the county to use the border of the county roads as part of the system. City would be kept informed on progress of system. Clerk had received letter from Anoka County Health Department with information on the Minnesota Clean Indoor Air Act which became effective August 1, 1975. Item 5 of the Act states that wnere a public place consists of a single room, one side of the room must be posted as a No Smoking Area. Clerk was to get appropriate sign. Elmer Murray made a motion to approve Peterson's 2nd Addition to Centerville, Fran Burque seconded it, motion carried. Mayor and clerk sig~ed hard shell copy of same. Fran Burque made a motion to grant a variance to Ordinance 15, Section 6, paragraph 10 and granting permission to convey by metes and bounds description the following property, All that part of the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 23, Township 31, Range 22, Anoka County, Minnesota described as folloWSI Beginning at the Sbutheast corner of LOT 6, BLOCK I, Peterson's Addition to Centerville, according to the map or plat thereof on file and of record in the office of the Anoka County Register of Deeds; thence South along the Southerly extension of the East line of said LOT 6 to its intersection with the centerline of Clearwater Creek; thence West along said centerline of Clearwater Creek to its intersection with the extension Southerly of the West line of Lot 7, Block I, Peterson's Addition to Centerville; thence North along the Southerly extension of said West line to the Southwest corner of said Lot 7; thence East along the South line of said Lots 7 and 6, Block I, Peterson's Addition to Centerville to the point of beginning, Elmer Murray seconded it, motion carried. John Peterson abstained from voting.
