Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council <br />of the City of Centerville held their regular meeting on <br />Wednesday, November 89 1978 in the City Hall, Mayor Prachar <br />called the meeting to order at 8:00 pm. Present were: <br />Burque, L' Allier and Laska. Absent: Murray. <br />The Council met as a Canvassing Board to go over the ballots <br />from the November 7 City Election and General Election. <br />The City, as of November 79 has 289 registered voters, 37 <br />new registrations were received on the 7th making a total of <br />326 registered voters in the City of Centerville. A total of <br />241 voters cast their ballots on November 7th. City election <br />results were as follows: Mayor - Walter Prachar, , two year <br />term with 201 votes; Councilmen - Floyd Laska, four year <br />term with 165 votes; Gary Savela, Jr., four year term with <br />123 votes and Elmer Murray - 120 votes. <br />Fran Burque made a motion to approve minutes of meeting <br />held October 25, Floyd Laska seconded it, motion carried. <br />Discussion was held on the 90 day appeal period on the <br />flood insurance study and council felt a letter to Rep. <br />Oberstar about the situation might help our cause. <br />Council was advised that 4 PRIVATE PROPERTY -NO TRESPASSING <br />signs have been removed from church property during sewer <br />construction and clerk was advised to order new ones. <br />Paul D. Curtis from the Beulke Agency of White Bear Lake <br />was in attendance to discuss the city insurance coverage. <br />He is instructed to work up total package of insurance <br />for the city and present it at the December 14th meeting. <br />Clerk was advised to contact Suburban Pick-up Service from <br />New Brighton to see if there is an interest in accommodating <br />our area for sanitation purposes. <br />The City has been advised by the Metropolitan Waste Control <br />Commission that the 1979 sewer service charges will be <br />$7,822.44 yearly or monthly installments of $651.87. <br />Council was advised of special meeting to be held Wednesday <br />November 15 at 7:00 pm in the City Hall to discuss the <br />street restoration plans with the Engineer. <br />Council was advised that the public hearing on the con- <br />solidation of Lino Lakes and Centerville has been changed <br />to Wednesday, November 22, at 9:00 AM in the Lino Lakes Hall, <br />Fran Burque made a motion to pay General Fund bills according <br />to attached sheet, Leon L' Allier seconded it, motion carried. <br />Fran Burque made a motion to adjourn meeting, Leon L' Allier <br />seconded it, motion carried.
