The City Council of the City of Centerville met on Thursday, <br />June 8, 1978 in the Centerville City Hall to consider the <br />making of an improvement on the Centerville City streets <br />known as Street Restoration Project #1-78. <br />Mayor Prachar called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. Present <br />were Burque , L' Allier , Laska, Murray , Attorney Hawkins and <br />Engineer Walt Williams. <br />The clerk read the notice of public hearing. Mayor gave <br />_ brief report on why the public hearing was called and the <br />Engineer gave a bri ee summary -of ---t-epyo jet - -and- <br />what is involved. Comments were heard from the floor and <br />audience was informed that the City should hear from the HUD <br />office about July 1st on the progress of our grant application. <br />Elmer Murray made a motion to continue the hearing until the <br />12th of July at 7:00 pm, Floyd Laska seconded it, motion carried. <br />This continuation will preceed the regular council meeting which <br />will be held at 8:00 pm. <br />Leon L'Allier suggested the City write a thank you letter <br />to Henry Miers for all the volunteer work he has done on <br />the Centerville ballfield. <br />Mayor Prachar suggested a thank you letter to John Peterson <br />be written to thank him for all the years of service on the <br />City Council. Also mention of this should be made in the <br />City paper. <br />Mayor Prachar appointed Elmer Murray, Acting Mayor for the <br />balance of 1978. Council concurred. <br />Suggestions were heard from a resident of Centerville on <br />ways the City could be cleaned up and that the clerk inform <br />the Dean Olson family to clean up garbage in back yard and <br />send Donald Zerwas family copy of Ordinance #10 dealing with <br />animals. <br />Leon L' Allier made a motion to pass resolution authorizing <br />Mayor and Clerk to execute deed on behalf of the City accepting <br />property of the A. A. Burque Estate as lift station site for <br />the City, Elmer Murray seconded it, motion carried. Copy of <br />Resolution is attached to and made a part of these minutes. <br />Leon L' Allier made a motion to adjourn meeting, Elmer Murray <br />seconded it, motion carried.
