The City Council of the City of Centerville held their <br />regular meeting o n Wednesday, May 24, 1978 in the City Hall, <br />Mayor Prachar called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. <br />Present were L' Allier and Burque, Absent: Murray and <br />Peterson. <br />Leon L' Allier made a motion to accept minutes of meetings <br />held on May 10 and 17 with corrections noted, Fran Burque <br />seconded it, motion carried. <br />Discussion was held on hiring Tree Inspector for the City. <br />Larry Brokke had given the clerk a quote of approximately <br />$1,000. to $1,200, for the year 1978 and the matter was <br />tabled until further information could be received on the <br />matter. <br />Leon L' Allier made a motion to appoint Ray Murray and <br />Jerry Peterson to the Police Advisory Board, Fran Burque <br />seconded it, motion carried. Clerk was to advise the <br />two appointees of their position as representatives from <br />Centerville . <br />Fran Burque made a motion to change the date on the public <br />hearing on the street restoration project from June 5th <br />to June 8th at 7:00 pm in the City Hall, Leon L' Allier <br />seconded it, motion carried. <br />Fran Burque made a motion to change the time of the regular <br />City Council meeting from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm until further <br />notice, Leon L'Allier seconded it, motion carried. <br />Messrs. Husnick and Granger appeared before council in <br />reference to Registered Land Survey on the proposed <br />Burque property. Discussion was held on lot 100 x 150 <br />next to Koch' s house which is part of Parcel E. <br />Discussion was held on oiling streets. Clerk was to check <br />further into matter, <br />Clerk read, the following letter from John Peterson: <br />"To the Village Council of the Village of Centerville - This <br />is to inform you that I am resigning from my councilman's <br />office effective May 24, 1978. Yours truly, John Peterson". <br />Fran Burque made a motion to adopt Resolution accepting <br />resignation and call special meeting to fill the position, <br />Leon L' Allier seconded it, motion carried. Resolution is <br />attached to and made a part of these minutes, <br />Mr. Al L' Allier presented council with note on the blacktop <br />portion of Mill Road which is proposed as part of the <br />street restoration project. Matter was tabled until the <br />public hearing on same which is June 8th, <br />Jerry Sundberg reported on his conversation with the Building <br />Inspector concerning the underground tank which is proposed <br />for the fire department to use in filling the fire trucks. <br />
