<br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />July 24, 19B1 <br />page t,wo <br /> <br />Per previous Staff consultation, it appeared to be the opinion of <br />the City Attorney that the City Council has already taken <br />appropriate action to initiate this petition. <br /> <br />Petition will be drafted by the City Attorney and presented to <br />the Rice Creek Watershed for consideration. <br /> <br />Municipal Building Well/Tower Site <br />The City Council inquired of Brian Miller, City Engineer, as to <br />whether towers require a setback greater than those of a standard <br />dwelling or business. <br /> <br />Mr. Miller advised that it is standard that the setbacks increase <br />by increments after a certain height. <br /> <br />Council member Wilharber gave an update of the preferred <br />locations for a municipal facility. He advised that he and <br />Council member Dario, as instructed by the City Council, had <br />reviewed the options. It appeared to be the recommendation of <br />Council member Wilharber and Council member Daria that the <br />present City site at Centerville Road and Heritage Street was <br />preferred. <br /> <br />Council member Burgstahler noted that he felt that the present <br />City site was not his favorite, however, the financial <br />considerations were a convincing factor. He noted that the Fire <br />Department has not said the City site was unacceptable. <br /> <br />Council member Pelton suggested that the City present a counter <br />offer to Mr. Russell Almendinger for his property south of Shad <br />Avenue and Main Street. <br /> <br />Council member Daria arrived at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Council member Pelton also suggested that the Almendinger site <br />was preferred due to the number of tress on the lot. She <br />suggested that those trees could be transplanted to the various <br />Centerville parks. She noted that the present City site would <br />fit the minimum requirements, but would not meet Centervillers <br />long term needs. She noted that Tax Increment Financing funds <br />could be used for a large portion of this site. <br /> <br />Council member Wilharber <br />Almendinger property was <br />flood plain.
