<br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />September 11, 1991 <br />. page tl:lree <br /> <br />sharing for <br />Ur!i ty Avenlle <br />expallsion" <br /> <br />the water and sewer lines along 20th Avenue east of <br />as the extension will appear to benefit future <br /> <br />John Stewart, City Engineer, advised that the original estimated <br />project cost and bond issue was $310,000"00,, He advised that <br />with the cost sharing for the sewer and water lines along 20th <br />Avenue east of Unity Avenue the reduction for the over sizing of <br />the water main and reduction for over head costs the new <br />estimated project cost to the developer would be $292,744.23. <br />With forty (40) lots on the development the assessment per lot <br />would be $7,318.61. <br /> <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Buckbee to reduce the original <br />estimated project cost and bond issue to the developer from <br />$310,000.00 to $292,744.23; <br />to be assessed over forty (40) lots at an assessment of <br />$7,318.61 per lot at an interest rate of 8.4% for a <br />period of five (5) years; <br />the difference from the original project costs to the <br />developer to the revised project costs shall be funded <br />by the appropriate sewer and water accounts and not <br />absorbed by the general fund, <br />motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />In a letter dated September 4, 1991 regarding Center Hills Second <br />Addition paving, John Stewart, City Engineer, relayed a request <br />from Ro-So Contracting, Inc. that the final lift of black top be <br />postponed until 1992. The Contractor has experienced some <br />difficulty the past week meeting the requirement of 100% <br />compaction in the top layers of the sub base due to weather <br />condi tiOllS " <br /> <br />It appeared to be the recommendation of Mr. Stewart that delaying <br />the final lift. until next year could result in a better street <br />surface" <br /> <br />Mr" Stewart also advised that the Contractor requested that <br />liquidated damages be waived" The Contractor is scheduled to be <br />completed by September 1, 1991 and damages are estimated at <br />$500,,00 per day. Mr. Stewart suggested that June 15, 1992 be <br />established as a new completion date on the contract amendment. <br /> <br />Motion by Burgstahler, second by Dario to authorize a change <br />order to delay the second lift of black top on the Center Hills <br />Second Addition until June 15, 1992; <br />the Council will also waive any liquidated damages that <br />would accrue as result of delaying the second lift, <br />motion eArrl~d unan1mou~lv. <br />
