City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 14, 2008 <br />Conversation ensued regarding the first design's failure, Mr. Thompson's proposed <br />design, and the fact that there are three contractors who could bid on it. If Bonestroo <br />would redo it correctly, there would be no additional cost. <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Lakso, to approve <br />Bonestroo to redo the Lake Shore Stabilization at Hidden Spring Park at no <br />additional cost. Motion carried (4/1). Council Member Broussard-Vickers <br />opposed. <br />VIII. NEW BUSINESS <br />Consider Using Volunteers for Tree Trimmin a.~ t Eagle Park vs. Public Works <br />Staff <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar, to use <br />volunteers for Tree Trimming at Eagle Park -provided they would be covered by <br />the City's insurance. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />2. Restoration of Boulevard on Heritage Street -Not to Exceed $3,400 <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard-Vickers, seconded by Council Member Lee, <br />to approve the restoration of the Boulevard on Heritage Street -not to exceed <br />$3,400. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Draina.~e System Implementation -Downtown <br />City Administrator Larson stated that they have money allocated from three grants for the <br />downtown drainage system. <br />Mayor Capra commented that the benefit to the ground water would be huge. <br />City Engineer Statz stated that it would have to be designed where it would not have a <br />big bounce, and there will be some trade offs. He questioned whether we should have a <br />backup, as this is the backbone of the system. He added that it would not disturb too <br />much of the street. <br />City Administrator Larson stated that they would need approval from Anoka County. <br />Discussion ensued. <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar, to approve <br />downtown Drainage System Implementation.
