<br />(3) Farm. FARM ANIMALS shall mean those animals commonly associated with a farm or <br />performing work in an agricultural setting. Unless otherwise defined, these animals shall include <br />members of the equine family (horses and mules), bovine family (cows and bulls), sheep, poultry <br />(chickens and turkeys), fowl (ducks and geese), swine (including Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs), goats, <br />bees and other animals associated with a farm, ranch or stable. <br />ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER. A person employed by or under contract with the city or a <br />licensed peace officer who is responsible for animal control enforcement. <br /> <br />AT LARGE. Off the premises of the owner and not under the custody and control of the owner or <br />other person (an individual capable of controlling the animal as needed) either by leash, cord, chain or <br />otherwise restrained or confined. <br /> <br />CAT. Both the male and female of the felidae species commonly accepted as domesticated <br />household pets. <br /> <br />DANGEROUS ANIMAL. Any animal which meets the definition of dangerous dog set forth in <br />M.S. ~ 347.50, as amended, and/or any successor statute. <br /> <br />DOG. Both the male and female of the canine species, commonly accepted as domesticated <br />household pets. <br /> <br />ENCLOSURE. Any structure, except a dwelling, designed to securely enclose and prevent an <br />animal from escaping therefrom and/or designed to provide the animal with shelter and protection from <br />the weather. <br /> <br />KENNEL (COMMERCIAL). <br /> <br />(1) Any structure or premises on which five or more domestic animals over 6 months of age <br />are kept, owned, boarded, groomed, sheltered, protected, bred or offered for sale or any other <br />merchandising. <br /> <br />(2) Every COMMERCIAL KENNEL shall be enclosed or fenced in such a manner as to <br />prevent the running at large or escape of the domestic animal(s) confined therein. <br /> <br />OWNER. Any person, firm, corporation, organization or department, possessing, feeding, <br />harboring, keeping, having an interest in or having temporary or permanent guardianship, custody or <br />control of the animal. <br /> <br />POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS. Any animal which meets the definition of potentially dangerous <br />dog set forth in M.S. ~ 347.50, as amended, and/or any successor statute. <br />(Ord. 24, passed 10-27-1999) <br />
