<br />June 27, 2001 <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers stated without this policy in place it would be <br />difficult for the Council to set an amount. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated she felt a nominal fine would be only a slap on the <br />wrist. She indicated more action should take place. Council Member Nelson <br />concurred and stated she would like to see a $1,000 fine. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Travis. seconded by Council Member Broussard <br />Vickers to fine Waterworks $500. Motion failed 2-3 (Capra. Nelson. and <br />Mayor Swedberl! opposed). <br /> <br />Mr. March stated he could send out letters to local establishments to allow for <br />input from stakeholders and residents on this issue. He indicated this would allow <br />for the City to create a violation policy. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated she agreed with a uniform policy. She indicated <br />she would like to know how many violations Waterworks has had in the past five <br />years. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Swedberl!. seconded bv Council Member Catlra to table <br />this item for lack of a policy on the City's part. Motion failed 2-3 (Nelson. <br />Broussard-Vickers. and Travis). <br /> <br />It was noted by the Council, this fine would only apply to this violation with a <br />policy to be determined at a future date. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Nelson. seconded bv Council Member Capra to <br />fine Waterworks $1.000 for servine to a minor. Motion carried 4-1 <br />(Broussard-Vickers opposed). <br /> <br />Employee Wages and Benefits <br /> <br />Mr. March explained he is still waiting to hear back from the League of <br />Minnesota Cities on this item. <br /> <br />Ordinance #4 Amendments <br /> <br />Mr. March reviewed the amendments to Ordinance #4 with the Council. He noted <br />the amendments were with regard to accessory structures and uses of swimming <br />pools. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded by Council <br />Member Nelson to approve the amendments to Ordinance #4 as presented by <br />staff.
