Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> <br />IV. CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />1. The City of Centerville January 23,2003 through February 12, 2003 Claims for <br />Approval <br />2. Centennial Fire District Claims <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Capra. seconded bv Council Member Paar to approve <br />Consent A2enda Item 2 as presented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked what the $51,000 to US Bank was for. Finance Director <br />Paulseth indicated it was for the final bond payment on Parkview. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded bv Council Member <br />Capra to approve the Claims for January 23. 2003 throu2h February 12. 2003 as <br />presented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> <br />V. A W ARDS/PRESENTATIONS/ APPEARANCES <br /> <br />1. Tom Thumb. Store #295 (Hearing/Anneal) Denial of2003 Tobacco License <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated she was not able to attend the meeting with Tom <br />Thumb but was happy that it was done and glad to see Tom Thumb is moving forward <br />with ways to rectify the situation. She then suggested that Council come up with a policy <br />of best practices for tobacco sales as was done for alcohol. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded bv Council Member <br />Capra to extend the conditional use permit to June 1. 2003. direct the police <br />department to conduct two compliance checks and report back to Council for <br />consideration at the Mav 28. 2003 Council Meetin2. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated she would like Staff to begin working on a <br />best practices plan for tobacco. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee indicated he felt Tom Thumb should pay for the compliance <br />checks. Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated that Tom Thumb had paid a <br />$750.00 fine that should cover the additional expenses for the compliance checks. <br /> <br />VOTE: All in favor.
