<br />City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />December 23, 2003 <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes presented a draft resolution regarding the appointments for 2004. <br /> <br />Council Members Capra and Lee requested corrections to the proposed Resolution <br />adding various committee members. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar noted the Tri-City Police Department needed to be removed. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated the Tri-City was asking the City to appoint a staff member <br />to this meeting. She noted the name would also be changed next year to reflect the <br />additional cities and townships that had been added. She indicated they were hoping to <br />meet twice in January. She stated they wanted to prepare a Joint Powers Agreement with <br />all of the cities. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney asked if the City Administrator would like to do this. Ms. Moore-Sykes <br />replied she was willing to attend these meetings. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney noted they needed to appoint a second individual to the Police <br />Governing Board. Council Member Lee stated he would be willing to be the second <br />individual appointed on the Board. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Lee. seconded bv Council Member Paar to aDDrove <br />Resolution #04-001 as amended. <br /> <br />VOTE: All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> <br />2. Street Proiect (Schedule Public Hearing and Meeting Place) <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson indicated that he had been working on the 2004 reports and they had been <br />receiving some resident inquiries regarding the street project. He suggested they notice a <br />public information meeting on the street project to the 110 residents who would be <br />affected by the project. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers requested the meeting be held in January at the <br />school. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked if they needed to obtain bids for the water tower and street <br />project. Mr. Peterson stated they had to receive quotes, not bids. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra stated she believed they should obtain competitive bids for <br />engineer professional services projects. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes noted there was also a learning process for a new engineer, which <br />could delay the project. <br /> <br />Page 5 of 11 <br />
