,. Ms. Moore-Sykes reported that the Editor of Town Life Magazine had asked whether Council was interested in having anything published in its Marchi April Edition. She then noted that the deadline for submission was January 31,2002. It was the consent of Council that it did not wish to publish anything in Town Life Magazine. Ms. Moore-Sykes reported that the Administrators from the member cities had discussed the takeover of AT&T Broadband by Comcast. She also indicated that the administrators had decided to purchase test equipment to make sure that the video equipment is up to standards as a commission rather than having each City purchase the equipment independently. Ms. Moore-Sykes reported that the Fire Chief is offering badges to member cities so that emergency staff can access the City during a crisis. She then indicated that the badges would have the City's logo and the name of the individual engraved on it and should not be easily altered. She then noted that 28 residents had signed up for the citizens academy which is a program that teaches residents what the police and fire departments do for the community. Motion by Council Member Capr~ seconded by Council Member Nelson to recess. to a closed Executive Session to discuss the performance review of City Clerk Treasurer. Ms. Teresa Bender. Aves - 4. Navs - 1 (Council Member Broussard Vickers). Motion carried. Council recessed to closed session at 9:52 p.m. Council briefly held discussion in regards to the preliminary performance review of the City Clerk. Council reconvened to the regular Council meeting at 10:04 p.m. XII. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded bv Council Member Capra to adiourn the January 9. 2002 City Council Meetin2 at 10:06 p.m. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously.
