<br />Subd. 11 Within appropriate zoning districts, one (1) wall sign is allowed for each public <br />entrance to a building, not to exceed in aggregate one and one-half (1-112) square feet for each <br />lineal foot of building face for that side of the building on which the sign is to be located, or ten <br />(10) percent of solid wall space (excluding windows and doors) for the same wall, whichever is <br />less. All wall signs must run parallel to a street or lot line. A maximum of forty (40) percent of <br />a wall sign may be of changeable copy. <br /> <br />Subd.12 Within appropriate zoning districts, one (1) pylon sign with two (2) faces, not <br />exceeding thirty-six (36) square feet of sign per face, shall be permitted for each lot. A <br />maximum of forty (40) percent ofa pylon sign face may be of changeable copy. <br /> <br />Subd. 13 Within appropriate zoning districts, one (1) monument sign with two (2) faces, <br />not exceeding forty (40) square feet per sign face, shall be permitted for each lot not containing <br />a pylon sign. A monument sign may not exceed the height of the abutting wall of the principal <br />building on the site. A maximum of forty (40) percent of a face of a monument sign may be of <br />changeable copy. Monument signs located in the Agricultural, Rural Residential, Urban <br />Residential, Central Residential, and Multi-family Residential Zoning Districts may only be <br />used to identify subdivisions, neighborhoods, or housing complexes. <br /> <br />Subd. 14 Within appropriate zoning districts, one (1) home-based business identification <br />sign, not exceeding two (2) square feet, identifying a business or service conducted on the <br />premises and affixed directly to a building, is allowed. <br /> <br />Subd. 15 Within appropriate zoning districts, one (1) advertising sign with two (2) faces, <br />not exceeding one hundred twenty-eight (128) square feet in size per sign face, may be allowed <br />by Conditional Use Permit for each one thousand (1,000) feet of road public road frontage, as <br />measured from the base of the sign. <br /> <br />Subd. 16 All signs and their supporting structures, shall be maintained in a safe, secure, <br />and serviceable repair by their owner. The Building Official shall order the repair or removal <br />of every sign and sign-support structure that becomes dilapidated, worn-out, unreadable, <br />unsafe, hazardous, or redundant. If the sign and/or its supporting structure is not repaired, <br />removed, or otherwise brought into compliance with this ordinance within thirty (30) days of <br />the Repair or Removal Order being issued, the Building Official shall revoke the sign permit. <br />Notice of the repair order shall be provided to the property owner of record by regular U.S. <br />Mail. <br /> <br />Subd. 17 No sign or sign-support structure shall be permitted in or upon public waters, <br />except signs conveying safety information erected by appropriate government authority. No <br />sign may be erected in a Shore Impact Zone, except one (1) advertising or business <br />identification sign may be allowed by Conditional Use Permit for each commercial or industrial <br />lot in a Shore Impact Zone. In order to approve such a Conditional Use Permit, the City <br />Council must find all of the following: <br /> <br />(A) The sign must serve the purpose of providing the general public notice of goods <br />or services they may purchase or utilize by accessing the business from the water body. <br /> <br />(B) The sign may only convey the location and name of the establishment and the <br />general types of goods or services available. <br />
