<br />Minutes of 12 May 1965 Meeting <br /> <br />The Village Council met 12 May 1965 at 7:30 p.m., at the road site between <br />Floyd LaMotte and Fran Burques. Those present were: <br /> <br />Mayor Burque <br /> <br />Clerk Happy - <br /> <br />~; <br /> <br />Councilmen LaMotte <br />Councilmen Peterson <br />Councilmen Dupre <br /> <br />Also present were: <br /> <br />Floyd LaMotte and Fre4 La Londe. <br /> <br />After a discussion at the 'site, it was decided to go ahead and put in the <br />blacktop road. and curbing, and to hire an Engineer .to do the layout work. <br /> <br />The Council then adjourned to the Village Hall for their regular monthly <br />meeting, and was joined by Treasurer Ruth Knabe. <br /> <br />Also present were: Harvey Cartier, Robert Barrot, Ernie Westlund, and <br />County Commissioner' LeRoy Johnson. <br /> <br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Motion to accept <br />minutes made by LaMotte and seconded by Peterson. So carried. <br /> <br />r <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />It was brought up that Mr. Russel, a Sanitation Engineer, had contacted <br />Peterson and Happy about the sewer project of Centerville. Council <br />discussed the problem, but no definite s.olution was agreed upon. Mr. <br />Russell is to be at the next regular meeting. <br /> <br />The Peltier Lake Drive road was brought up and Happy is to contact the <br />residents on said road to see if they care to have a permanent road put in. <br /> <br />Harvey Cartier reported he was running into difficulties with dog owners. <br />They are refusing to get licenses for their dogs and leaving them run <br />loose. <br /> <br />The Council agreed to accept the Gas Franchise project, providing there . <br />can be a time limit set on it as far as installation is concerned. The <br />Clerk is to see Mr. Myers, the Attorney, so he can check to see if there <br />is a prior commitment between the Village and N.S.P. Co.; if not, Mr. <br />Myers is to draw up a contract. Motion was made by laMotte, seconded by <br />Peterson. <br /> <br />( -~. <br /> <br />Mr. Johnson was at the meeting to discuss the policing of the Village. Two <br />~lans were suggested: <br /> <br />'1) Contact the Village of Blaine to see 'if they could extend' their <br />patrol to include Centerville. <br /> <br />2) Mr. Johnson would contact County Commissioners Board to see if <br />Centerville could have the Anoka County Sheriff patrol here. <br />
