Centerville Park Play Days

We had a great summer at LaMotte Park! Some of the themes we had were;
superhero week, world cultures & Native MN Animal week. The kids said their favorite
activities were tie dying shirts & playing freeze tag! They also enjoyed having WARGO
come to park!

DATES
Centerville Park Play Days ran Monday- Thursday 9-12pm for two sessions. Session
1 ran from June 9-June 17 & session 2 ran July 21-August 22.

ATTENDANCE
During session 1 we had a total of 23 kids (16 ages 4-7 & 7 ages 8-12). Session 2 we
had 18 kids (14 ages 4-7 & 4 ages 8-12).

BUDGET
Revenue for sessions 1 & 2 = $2665.00
Staffing for sessions 1 & 2 = $3308.00
Program expenses for sessions 1 & 2 (snacks & supplies) = $500

Net = -($1543)

In order to keep the cost at its lowest rate for the community members we ask the city
to grant $2000 towards this program. The amount leftover once we break even will be
used directly towards the program whether it be new supplies, program scholarships or
to help with the staffing costs.

FORECAST 2009
With your support we would love to offer Park Play Days again. We will need to
increase the registration fee to $85 for a 5 week session, which is still VERY affordable
& the Y has program scholarships available to those that qualify.

Other ideas for 2009:
Hosting 1-2 weeks of Teen Summer Extreme at the SkatelWheel Park.

Summer Extreme focuses on challenging themes designed to get you out of your
comfort zone. Its an unforgettable adventure and a way to learn valuable skills and
build self-confidence. (grades 5-9)
(This program is revenue generating and would not need financial support from the
city)

Thank you for collaborating with us throughout the summer, we look
forward to many more adventures!

Liz Guimont
Program Director
651-259-2116
Liz.Guimont@ymcastpaul.org

Kate Bronson
Sr. Program Coordinator
651-259-2106
Kate.Bronson@ymcastpaul.org

@
