CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />August 13, 2008 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the City of Centerville held its <br />regularly scheduled meeting on August 13, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Mayor Mary Capra <br />Council Member Linda Broussard-Vickers <br />Council Member Michelle Lakso <br />Council Member Tom Lee ""'~ ~ <br />Council Member Jeff Paar 0 <br />~ O <br />ABSENT: None. ~ ~ <br />STAFF: City Administrator Dallas Larson <br />Legal Counsel (Alternative Representative), Tony Spector <br />City Engineer Mark Statz <br />L CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Capra called the August 13, 2008, City Council Meeting to order at 6:34 p.m. <br />II. PUBLIC HEARING(S) <br />Open Forum <br />Julie Reiman, 7174 Brian Drive - Suestions Concerning Communication with Residents <br />Julie Reiman appeared to state that she could not get timely answers to her email from <br />Council Members regarding the right-of--way issue regarding her property. She stated that <br />email should not go unanswered by the people making decisions for the City. She added <br />that she also contacted City Finance Director Meyer on August 8, but did not receive a <br />response from him until this afternoon, August 15. At that time, he only responded with 2 <br />short sentences, stating that the City has $8,055,596 in long-term debt, and she should call <br />if she had any further questions. She also requested information from Mayor Capra on <br />July 23, and did not receive a response until August 12. She stated that these behaviors <br />should be addressed, and there should be some protocol for City Council Members and <br />City Staff to answer messages from citizens in a timely manner. <br />Laura Powers, 7173 Brian Drive -Concern about Representation <br />Laura Powers stated that she has served on the City Council and has lived in Centerville <br />since 1992. She stated that there is a Petition, with over 500 citizen signatures, requesting <br />that the City step back and reassess the 2009 Road Project. She stated that one <br />Page 1 of 9 <br />
