<br />City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting <br />October 8, 2008 <br /> <br />The Council was open to the possibility and will consider the matter when the license <br />application is submitted for approval. <br /> <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTSIUPDATES <br /> <br />1. City Administrator. Mr. Dallas Larson <br /> <br />Code Revisions <br />City Administrator Larson stated that the Planning & Zoning Commission has completed <br />the revisions to Codes 150 through 155. A hearing will be scheduled in November, with a <br />recommendation to the Council for the changes. <br /> <br />Comprehensive Plan <br />City Administrator Larson stated that, following the October 9, the comment period would <br />be closed. He stated that the Planning & Zoning Commission recommends that the <br />Council give their preliminary approval at their next meeting, with the understanding that a <br />hearing will be held after the Plan has been thoroughly reviewed by the Council. City <br />Administrator Larson reported that the deadline for all the metro cities is the end of <br />December. He stated that Centerville would like to get their plan in early. <br /> <br />Downtown Area <br />City Administrator Larson reported that the downtown area sidewalks, streets, and lighting <br />should be substantially complete by the end of October. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra stated that they need to make sure that the standing water issue is taken care <br />of. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee inquired whether they have a schedule as to when it will be <br />completed. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson replied that they will be back in the spring. He stated that the <br />bulk of work has been done, so the rest should go more quickly. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee inquired whether City Administrator Larson could ask the County <br />when the road will be open through town. He stated that there will be a lot of activities <br />coming up next summer, and they would like to start the planning process. <br /> <br />2. Councilmember Tom Lee <br /> <br />Parks & Recreation Committee <br />Councilmember Lee stated that the last meeting of the Parks & Recreation Committee was <br />pretty short. He stated that their big concern has been making sure that McBride Park <br />would be complete, and the repair work done, before they pay for it. <br /> <br />Councilmember Lee stated that there have been some issues with teens at Eagle Park. He <br />stated that the lighting is not in the best location for the park. The Parks & Recreation <br /> <br />Page 6 of8 <br />
