Box 357 <br />Shell Lake, WI 54871 <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Martin: <br /> <br />Previously, the City informed you that your residence at 6923 Tourville Circle was in <br />violation of City Ordinance #6 & 6-A, nuisance and that the City would remove the <br />debris and store same within a POD for a period of 60 days. You were given an <br />opportunity to retrieve the items within that period and you neglected to do so. The City <br />also discussed reimbursement for our expenditures related to this clean-up. You have <br />been billed (!nv. #8229) in the amount of $577.50 and you have neglected to satisfy <br />same. <br /> <br />You are hereby notified that the City will be holding a public hearing to consider special <br />assessing your property the fees associated. with the City abating the nuisance per <br />Minnesota State Statute 429.101 on October 12, 2005 at the City's regularly scheduled <br />Council meeting. The proposed amount to be assessed to your property tax is $577.50 <br />plus a $50.00 certification fee for a total of $627.50. If you pay Invoice #8229 within <br />thirty (30) days, the City will not charge you the $50.00 certification fee. <br /> <br />An owner may appeal his/her assessment to the District Court pursuant to Minnesota <br />State Statute 429.081, by serving notice of the appeal upon the Mayor or City Clerk <br />within thirty (30) days after the adoption of the assessment and filing such notice with the <br />District Court within ten (10) days after service upon the Mayor or Clerk. However, no <br />appeal may be taken on the amount of the assessment unless a written objection signed <br />by the property owner was filed with the City Clerk at or before the assessment hearing <br />unless the failure to object was due to reasonable cause. <br /> <br />If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. <br /> <br />Sincerely, <br /> <br />~ as Larson <br />City Administrator <br /> <br /> <br />Ene.
