CentervifCe, :MtJ{ 55038
(651) 429-3232 .:r~ (651) 429-8629

October 26, 2005

Honorable Mayor & City Council Members:

It is with mixed feelings that the Centerville Economic Development Committee sends this letter
to you. We are informing the Council that as of October 2005, the Centerville Economic
Development Committee is disbanding and turning over to the Centerville City Council any
tasks or functions that the committee has performed or is slated to perform.

The committee has struggled for some time as to what our goals should be and how can we truly
benefit the city of Centerville. The City has now formed the Downtown Task Force to work on
the redevelopment of the downtown area and there have been discussions at work sessions
regarding a formation of an EDA. The majority of the current Economic Development
Committee have determined it is best that the committee disband at this time and make room for
a more appropriate committee for the development of the economics in Centerville.

Again, we are saddened by the committee disbanding, but by doing so, we also now have
opportunities to assist in other areas of the community.

Sincerely,

Eileen Smith
EDC Chairperson

Scott Ebel
EDC Co-Chairperson

John Fischbach
Committee Member

Jennifer Dosch
Committee Member

Tim Rehbine
Committee Member

31 e
