City of Centerville <br />Planning and Zoning Commission <br />May 6, 2008 <br />Commissioner Parucci inquired about the response to the search presentation. <br />Council Member Broussard-Vickers replied that there were 25 in First Class. <br />Commissioner Parucci inquired about who funds it. <br />City Administrator Larson replied that the City provided some funding, as did the Police and <br />Fire Departments. He stated that Council Member Lakso has been volunteering her time. <br />He added that a recent drill went really well. <br />Council Member Broussard-Vickers stated that it was well received and officials were <br />surprised that Centerville is this far along. <br />Commissioner Parucci replied that this was good. He stated that we are at an age where <br />things are changing fast, and we may not always have the police help fast enough. He added <br />that one tornado could be a major catastrophe. <br />Council Member Broussard-Vickers stated that, with Katrina, it was weeks before cell <br />phones worked. She added that she did hear the sirens on the day they were tested. <br />Commissioner Mosher added that he heard them also because his dog barked when they <br />sounded. <br />Motion by Commissioner Pangell, seconded by Commissioner Fehrenbacher, to <br />approve the Joint Work Session Meeting Minutes of April 3, 2008, as corrected. All in <br />favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />VIII.
