Save the Date August 8, 2009 - Festival of the Lakes 8K RunlWalk The City of Centerville Parks and Recreation Committee is planning the First Annual 8 Kilometer Run or Walk around Centerville Lake August 8, 2009. Fete des Lacs (Festival ofthe Lakes) is an annual Centerville event held the first full weekend of August. This run or walk will be one of several activities held in conjunction with Fete des Lacs. The run takes you through Centerville neighborhoods and the beautiful Rice Creek Regional Park. Runners and walkers of all ability levels are invited. The run and walk begin at 8:00 AM; stay for the city parade starting at 10:00. Participants will receive an inaugural T-shirt and water bottle. Come out and establish the course record for you age group. Awards will be given to the top three male and top three female runners and to the fastest runner in each age group If you are interested in becoming an event sponsor or in helping as a volunteer contact Pat Branch, Race Director, bye-mail pbranch@cox.net. Per Deb Barnes, The Citizen, a press release ran in our paper on November 12, Page B5. I plan to run it again in January, right after all of the New Years' Resolutions. Climbine: Wall- Tracie McBride Memorial Park Per Mr. Paul Palzer, Public Works Director, the climbing wall structure has been delivered, but was missing one piece. Public Works will install the equipment when the weather permits. A thank you note was sent to Dead Broke Saddle Club for their generous donation of$6,000.
