City of Centerville <br />Planning and Zoning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes, October 7, 2008 <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />A. CREATIVE KIDS DAYCARE-REQUEST FOR SIGN PERMIT. The Commission <br />received a request for a sign permit for a pylon sign to be located on the north side of <br />the property along Center Street. The Commission felt the sign would be better on the <br />north side of the parking lot adjoining the County road, but the Code would only allow <br />the Commission to impose restrictions that deal with safety and traffic visibility. Staff <br />will pass on the Commission's recommendation to the applicant that the sign would be <br />better placed if moved to the east end of the parking lot and oriented to CSAH 54. <br />Motion by Commissioner Fehrenbacher ,seconded by Commissioner Pangell, to <br />recommend approval of the sign permit conditioned upon the requirement that <br />the sign be placed a minimum of ten feet from the property line to the center post <br />and that the bottom of the sign must be a minimum of six feet above the driveway <br />elevation to ensure visibility and traffic safety. All in favor. Commissioner <br />Parucci Opposed, Motion Passed. <br />VI. DISCUSSION ITEMS: None <br />VII. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br />September 2, 2008, Planning and Zoning Meeting Minutes <br />Motion by Commissioner Pangell, seconded by Commissioner Wood, to approve the <br />Minutes of September 2, 2008, as presented. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />VIII. PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION MEETING ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Commissioner Wood, seconded by Commissioner Parucci, to adiourn the <br />meeting at 9:20 p.m. All in favor.
