MICHELLE LAKSO AND HER FAMIY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the citizens of Centerville elected Ms. Lakso to the position of Council Member on <br />November 2, 2004, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Lakso has served the citizens of Centerville from January 2005 - December 2008, <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, In serving her community as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner - 2004, Parks and <br />Recreation liaison - 2005, North Metro Telecommunications Cable Commissioner 2005 - 2008, and <br />Centennial Fire Steering Commissioner 2007 - 2008, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Lakso's commitment to her community continues through the Community <br />Emergency Response Team (CERT) where she has been a trainer since 2007 and intends on <br />continuing to serve her community in this capacity, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Lakso, has provided excellent leadership, demonstrated initiative and perseverance <br />through difficult decision making and times of great change within the City, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Lakso is a leader that is respected and liked by her fellow Council Members, City <br />Staff and Elected Officials she has served with throughout Anoka County and the State of Minnesota. <br />As a colleague, she has always treated her fellow Council Members with respect and valued their <br />opinions even when they disagreed with hers, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ms. Lakso's husband Brad, daughters Audrey, Allie and Adeline have had to make <br />great sacrifices over the past four years, and this Council recognizes that when an individual serves in <br />the capacity as an elected official, their family also serves. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, that the City Council of the <br />City of Centerville expresses its regrets in seeing her leave this honorable service, but wishes her and <br />her family well in what lies before them. We thank her for her four years of dedication to this <br />community as she has served others through her choices. The City of Centerville wishes you every <br />success in your future.
