Pa:{(651) 429-8629 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> <br />RESOLUTION # 05-047 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE REQUIREMENT OF HOLDING A <br />REFERENDUM FOR THE FUNDING OF A SPORTS ST ADIDM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County and the Minnesota Vikings are proposing to construct a <br />sports stadium in the City of Blaine; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County is proposing to financially fund a portion of the stadium <br />with a County-wide sales tax and other fees which will be paid by taxpayers, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Anoka County and others are in favor of bypassing a state law which <br />REQUIRES a referendum in order to increase taxes to fund a stadium. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL YED that the Centerville City Council, which is <br />the representative government body of the residents of Centerville, support the necessity <br />of a referendum as it is required by law. <br /> <br />Adopted by the City Council ofCenterville on October 12, 2005. <br /> <br />~1 ('i <br />/ lU.~ A .~&L/ <br />Mayor, MkY Capra <br /> <br />Attest~ /------"" ~ /' .' <br />C- --'~~A4)~/~ <br />City Clerk, Teresa Bender <br />
