Centervzlfe, :MJf 55038 <br /> <br />(651) 429-3232 . ff'a:( (651) 429-8629 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #05 - 029 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />EFFORTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, local individuals and business people have created a not-for-profit <br />community development corporation called Centerville Corporation for Economic <br />Development, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such community development corporation exists for the purpose of <br />fostering and assisting local business and industrial development and job creation. <br /> <br />NOW THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />CENTERVILLE, ANOKA COUNTY, MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1. The Council commends the efforts of local individuals that share the City's <br />goals for industrial and commercial growth and job creation. <br />2. The Council, recognizing that private development corporations have a role to <br />play in accomplishing economic development and job creation, encourages the <br />Board and Members of Centerville Corporation for Economic Development to <br />actively market the benefits of business expansion and development in the City <br />of Centerville. <br />3. While it is the intention of the Council that the City work cooperatively with <br />Centerville Corporation for Economic Development, it is understood that the <br />Corporation is an independent entity and has been granted no powers to commit <br />the City to any action. <br /> <br />Adopted by the Council this 22nd day of June, 2005. <br /> <br />Mary Capra, Mayor <br /> <br />Attest: <br />Teresa Bender, Clerk <br />
