City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting <br />December 10, 2008 <br />Res. #08-033 -Calling for a Public Hearing for the 2009 Street Improvement <br />Project Special Assessments <br />City Administrator Larson stated that this is the second Resolution. He recommended <br />scheduling a Public Hearing on January 7, 2009. <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Paar, to approve <br />Res. #8-033 -Calling for a Public Hearing for the 2009 Street Improvement Proiect <br />Special Assessments, as presented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />4. 2008 SCORE Funds -Balance Remaining <br />City Administrator Larson stated that the City Staff recommends using the balance of the <br />2008 SCORE funds to reduce the recycling bills of the citizens. Included in the Council <br />Members' packets is a memo from Staff indicating the credit would be approximately $7 <br />for each resident. This is being recommended so the funds do not go back to the County. <br />Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Lakso, to approve <br />applying all remaining unused 2008 SCORE funds to credits on the citizens' recyclin~ <br />bills. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />VIII. NEW BUSINESS <br />Res. #08-034 - Approving the 2009 Budget <br />City Administrator Larson stated that, at the Truth in Taxation Hearing, Finance Director, <br />John Meyer, reviewed the budget with the City Council, and all their questions were <br />answered. This Resolution adopts the budget. <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Broussard-Vickers, <br />to approve Res, #08-034 -Approving the 2009 Budget. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />2. Res. #08-035 -Adopting Final Tax Levy Collectable in 2009 <br />Motion by Council Member Lakso, seconded by Council Member Broussard-Vickers, <br />to approve Res. #08-035 -Adopting Final Tax Levy Collectable in 2009, in the <br />amount of $2,043,820. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Res. #08-036 - Approving Abatement of Special Assessment on PIN #823-31-22- <br />33-0070, 1685 Dupre Road <br />City Administrator Larson stated that this assessment should not have been charged and <br />would be returned to the property owner. <br />Page 5 of 11 <br />
