City of Centerville <br />City Council Meeting <br />August 24, 2005 <br /> <br />3. Consideration of Imposing Ordinance #24 Requirements on Potentially <br />Dangerous Dog as Determined by Chief Makela <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson indicated there was a dog that bit a child and the Chief has <br />asked that Council authorize him to impose requirements listed in Ordinance #24 for <br />dogs determined to be potentially dangerous. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Lee, seconded by Council Member Paar to authorize <br />Chief Makela to impose the requirements of Ordinance #24 for potentially <br />dangerous dog. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Recommendation for Council Chambers Rental Deposit <br /> <br />Council discussed the Staff recommendation for Council Chamber rental and determined <br />to use one deposit for all groups using the room. This deposit will be refundable if no <br />damage occurs. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Terway, seconded by Council Member Paar to set the <br />deposit for the rental of Council Chambers at 150.00. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> <br /> 1. City Administrator – Mr. Dallas Larson <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson indicated that the City is still attempting to sell its surplus <br />trucks and asked Council consideration of alternate sale options. <br /> <br />Council agreed to have Staff look into selling the trucks on Ebay. <br /> <br /> <br />2.1601 LaMotte Drive <br /> <br />Mayor Capra asked legal staff if the City could utilize eminent domain as the property <br />has been listed as surplus. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated that is an option but the Water Utility would have the <br />option of taking the property off the surplus property list at any time. <br /> <br />Legal Staff and Council discussed the pros and cons of an eminent domain proceeding to <br />obtain the property. <br /> <br />Mr. Meyer suggested Council consider authorizing the City Attorney to present a <br />purchase agreement for the City’s appraised amount of $285,000 to the Water Utility. <br />Page 4 of 5 <br /> <br />
