Pursuant to due call and notice thereof the City Council of the
City of Centerville held a public hearing to consider the
improvement of Progress Road and Westview Street north of Main
Street and east of Centerville Road (to include the construction
of a sidewalk) on Monday, June 8, 1992 at the City Hall. Mayor
Buckbee called the public hearing to order at 7:05 p.m. Present:
Burgstahler, Dario, Wilharber. Absent: Pelton.

Audience members present at the meeting to address this issue
were:
Warren Tester, Director of Business Affairs, Centennial
School District;
Kathy Mashe, Centerville Elementrary School Principal;
Gene Houle, 7124 Centerville Road.

John Stewart, City Engineer, was present to address the project.

It was noted that the project would not be a total
reconstruction. It would involve patching and overlay of the
streets. The project would include drainage and add strength to
the roads.

Council member Burgstahler advised that he is not in favor of
assessing the two property owners on the east side of Progress
Road unless there is a reconstruction of the street. He noted
that he is not sure now is the best time for this maintenance
cost. Council member Burgstahler advised that he is not prepared
at this time to make a decision as to whether the City would
participate monetarily in the project.

Mayor Buckbee also advised that he was not in favor of assessing
the property owners on the east side of Progress Road.

Warren Tester
this project.
1.
