Bergee was Assistant Wisconsin, from 1930 to 1936; and Principal in Colfax, WHEREAS, A. P. Bergee was Field Director of the American Red Cross from 1941 to 1943; and WHEREAS, A. P. Bergee was Senior Lieutenant for the United States Navy from 1943 to 1945; and WHEREAS, A. P. Bergee was Superintendent of Schools in Belview, Minnesota from 1946 to 1948, Superintendent of Schools in Hector, Minnesota from 1948 to 1956; and WHEREAS, A. P. Bergee is listed in Who's Who in American Education as a pioneer in school reorganization; and WHEREAS, A. P. Bergee was a Regent of Luther College from 1977 to 1982; and WHEREAS, A. P. Bergee was recipient of Luther College Distinguished Service Award in 1973, recipient of American Lung Association Kleinman Award in 1983, recipient of American Read Cross Distinguished Service Award, and Recipient of weco Good Neighbor Award; and WHEREAS, A. P. Bergee is the founder of American Guidance Service, Inc.; and WHEREAS, A. P. Bergee is Education Association Administrator; and a lifetime member of the National and American Association of School WHEREAS, A. P. Bergee is a member and form president of the Circle-Lex Lion's Club; and WHEREAS, A. P. Bergee has been a member of the American Legion for thirty-five years; and WHEREAS, It is most fitting to honor A. P. Bergee's lifetime devotion to education and service; and WHEREAS, The A. P. Bergee Scholarship Endowment Fund will provide annual scholarships for graduates of Centennial High School; and WHEREAS, These scholarships will be awarded to students who are pursuing education leading to vocations that provide service to others.
