<br />I <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council <br />of Centerville held their regular meeting on Wednesday, <br />July 27, 198) in City Hall. Mayor Savela called the meeting <br />to order at 8100 PM. Present were: Baumann, L'Allier, <br />Wilharber and Zimny. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Baumann to approve the minutes <br />of the July i), 198) meeting, motion carried. <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS: Dogs running loose on east side <br />of town, complaints on tournament held in City Park over the <br />previous weekend. <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />Franchise Ordinance between City of Centerville and NCSCCC <br />was discussed. Motion by Wilharber, second by L'Allier <br />to adopt the Franchise Ordinance No. 40 AN ORDINANCE, INCLUDING <br />ADDENDUM WITH EXHIBITS, GRANTING A FRANCHISE TO GROUP W CABLE <br />OF THE NORTH CENTRAL SUBURBS, INC., A MINNESOTA CORPORATION, <br />TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN A CABLE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM IN THE <br />CITY; SETTING FORTH CONDITIONS ACCOMPANYING THE GRANT OF <br />FRANCHISE; PROVIDING FOR REGULATION, AND USE OF THE SYSTEM; / <br />AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF ITS PROVISIONS, <br />motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Police Chief Myhre appeared before council for discussion <br />of police related matters and request for officer to appear <br />at one meeting a month of the city council. <br /> <br />Engineer Williams informed council that the beehives on <br />Lots 4 and 5, Block 2 of Peterson's Old Homestead Addition <br />(2) in east ditch of Mill Road will always be needed. <br /> <br />Quote from Soil Solidification was discussed. Clerk advised <br />council of fund balance in utility account and she was <br />instructed to check with bank concerning city loan to pay <br />for project and also to check with Metro Council about <br />availability of grant money for same. <br /> <br />Harvey was instructed to purchase 8 sheets of 5/8" plywood <br />for repair of the skating rink. <br /> <br />Mr. Henry DaBruzzi appeared before council for discussion <br />of the fence he wishes to put up along the north side of <br />his property and also fencing in the 150x150 area where <br />his building is to keep the vandalism problem down. <br />Consensus of council was to allow Mr. DaBruzzi to erect <br />an 8' high fence as requested. <br /> <br />Tree in right of way on Mound Trail was discussed. Motion <br />by Wilharber, second by Baumann to allow fire department <br />members to cut down the 60" diameter tree at a fee of $550. <br />motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br />
