<br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of <br />Centerville held their regular meeting on Wednesday, June 22, <br />1983 in City Hall! Mayor Savela called the meeting to order <br />at 8100 PM. Present were: Baumann, L'Allier and Zimny; absent: <br />Wilharber. Motion by L'Allier, second by Baumann to approve <br />the minutes of June 8, 1983 meeting, motion carried. <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS: Ballfields in park need cutting, <br />Dan Tourville to do it @ $15.00 per hour; dogs running loose; <br />trees growing in ditch on park side of Mound Trail; weeds should <br />be cut on Pavilion property along LaValle Drive; gate at school <br />needs padlock. <br /> <br />Firm representatives from Electric Motor Control and Solidifica- <br />tion, Inc., presented bids on soil solidify manholes and TV and <br />seal leaks in sewer system. Electric Motor's bid covered only <br />manhole repair (25); Solidification, both projects. Bids will <br />be reviewed and discussed at July 13th meeting. Council requested <br />Solidification to submit proposal separating the two projects <br />in place of one submitted at meeting. <br /> <br />Bump sign for Peltier Lake Drive tabled at this time. <br /> <br />Discussion on leaky roof. Council requested Harvey to look <br />at roof and report at next meeting. <br /> <br />Commissioner Margaret Langfeld appeared before council for dis- <br />cussion on items of concern in Centerville; city did not get a <br />CETA employee; county looking tnto the matter of assistance on <br />Mill Road or designation as County road; previous complaint of <br />trees in ditch on Mound Trail; proposed race track. <br /> <br />Ronald Cox, Planner for County Park Department appeared before <br />council for discussion on Chain of Lakes Park Reserve; 2550 acres <br />in size; 80% of land -wild life areas and 20% active use (500 <br />acres). Mr. Cox told council development in park is at a stand- <br />still until 1985 because of funding problems. In 1985, the <br />proposal is for golf course expansion, 100 family camp sites <br />with six rest rooms, sanitary dump station, electrical hook-ups <br />and shower areas. When park is fully developed in 1990, pro- <br />jections are for 60,000 attendance in swimming area, 100,000 <br />picnicers, 5-6,000 using camp sites. <br /> <br />Clerk presented proposal for a FOR SALE sign Glenn Rehbein <br />wants to put up on his property at 20th and Main; sign being <br />12' x 8'. According to Ordinance #4, ARTICLE J - J2.0J-2 SIGNS <br />size cannot exceed six square feet per side. Mr. Rehbein's <br />recourse is to apply for a special use permit for proposed sign. <br /> <br />Motion by Baumann, second by Zimny to issue J.2 beer permit <br />to the Centerville Lions Club for steak fry on July 17, 198J <br />in Kelly's backyard, motion carried. <br />
