COUNTY OF ANOKA

CENTRAL COMMUNICATIONS - 911

Anoka County Courthouse
325 East Main Street. Anoka, MN 55303-2489
(763) 323-5820 . Fax (763) 422-7504

February 23, 2009

From:

John Tonding, Communications Manager

To:

Anoka County Public Works Directors

Subj:

800 MHz Public Works Radio Grant

As you know, Anoka County Central Communications recently applied for a grant
through the Metropolitan Emergency Services Soard (MESS) for funding to purchase
800 MHz radio equipment for public works departments. I'm happy to announce that
the grant has been awarded.

If you are receiving this letter, your department is eligible to purchase radio equipment
through this grant. Details on the amount of funding and the required local match,
specific to your department, are on the next page of this memo.

Please note the following dates -

December 31. 2009 - The MESS must certify that funds are committed from local
governments for the required match for radio purchases.

This gives you the 2009 budget cycle to allot funds for the local match for radio
purchases. At any point that you become aware that your agency will not be able to
provide the match, or that your agency is not interested in purchasing radio equipment
under the grant, notify me. I will then work to try to redeploy the funds to other
agencies.

June 30. 2010- Invoices for reimbursement funds through the grant must be submitted
to the MESS.

Once your agency has committed to providing the match for the radio equipment,
Central Communications will place the order and provide initial payment to the radio
equipment vendor. Your agency will then provide match funds, and Central
Communications will submit for grant fund reimbursement.

"Emergency dispatching for Sheriff, Police and Fire departments in Anoka County"
Affirmative Action I Equal Opportunity Employer
