<br />/' <br /> <br />Pursuant to d~e call and notice thereof, the City Council <br />of Centerville held their regular meeting on WedneSday, <br />May 22, 1985, in City Hall. Mayor L'Allier called the <br />meeting to order at 7.05 P.M. Present. Ayers, Zimny, <br />Wilharber. Robischon arrived at 9130 P.M. <br /> <br />Motion by Wilharber, second by Ayers to approve the minutes <br />of the May 8 meeting, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS. <br />Clerk will contact the bicycle association to request they <br />park in the commuter lot on the SE corner of 35E and County <br />Road 14, as opposed to parking along 20th avenue. <br /> <br />Clerk will check with the Building Inspector on the remodeleing <br />being done at Ro-So Contracting, 7137 - 20th Avenue North. <br /> <br />Harvey will have Center Street graded again. <br /> <br />Clerk will refer the condition of the tennis courts nets <br />and posts to the Park & Recreation Committee.. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS. <br />Discussion on the rezoning of the property at 6805 - 20th . <br />Avenue South. Bill Hawkins, City Attorney, stated that our <br />original rezoning from Commercial to Industrial was potentially <br />subject to challenge. A copy. of the Ci ty Attorney's opinion <br />is attached to and made a part of these minutes. <br /> <br />Comments from Larry Brokke, 6795 - 20th Avenue South, on this <br />matter. <br /> <br />Motion by Ayers, second by Wilharber tG send the matter of <br />rezoning the property at 6805 - 20th Avenue South back to <br />the Planning and Zoning Committee for a recommendation based <br />on the classification the property in that area should be <br />zoned, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Discussmn on the vacation of 8th Street. A written opinion <br />from our City Attorney, Bill Hawkins, is attached to and made <br />a part of these minutes. <br /> <br />Motion by Ayers, second by Zimny to deny the vacation of 8th <br />Street, motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Ayers, second by Zimny to grant a variance request <br />from the side road setback for lot 13, block 1, Peterson's <br />Addition on the condition the plans for development of the <br />property receive council approval before building, motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Update on the roads from Art Mohler. Contractor from Master <br />Asphalt was unable to attend. Contractor needs to work <br />with the specifications from an engineer. Clerk will check <br />to see if our contract with Milner W. Carley is exclusive. <br /> <br />Need to present a plan inclUding dollar amounts to the people <br />at a public hearing. <br /> <br />.~ <br />
