This projecl proposes to
construct 8.770 feet of pedestrian! hicycle trail linkages with appunenances beginning at the existing
trail on Lamotte Dr" intersecting at Heritage SI., continuing east on Heritage SI., intersecting with
Centerville Rd., proceeding oonh 00 Ceoterville Rd., coonecling and crossing CSAH 14, continuing
oonh 10 Westview St. and ending at elemenlary school trail. AdditionallTai! segments will be
constructed adjacent to the City Hall sile wilh a pedestrian bridge crossing the Clearwater Creek and
adjacenllo 20th Ave. from Fairview SI. to CSAH 14.

The APE for archaeology was determined to be the limits of the trail construction. There are no
previously recorded archaeological sites within the APE and Ihe potential for intact archaeological
resources to be located within the APE is low.

The APE for architeclural history was determined to be the firsllier ofpropenies adjacent to the
proposed trail. In 2004 a Phase I and II architectural survey was carried out in Centerville as pan of the
proposed CR 14 reconstruction project between 135E and 135W (SP 02-614-24). The buildings along
the trail project were all looked at as pan of the CR 14 survey. Nooe of the buildings were determined to
be eligible to the National Register.

We have determioed that there wiU be no historic properties affoded by the project as currently
proposed. As there are no historic propenies within the project APE, the section 106 review of this
proiect is now comn)ete and no ~HPO comment neriod and resDonse are reauired under the terms of the
new PA. (fthe project scope changes, please provide our office with the revised information and we
will conduct an addilional review.

~rV~

Teresa Manin, Archaeologist
Cultural Resources Vnit (CRV)

encs.

cc: Joe Hudak, MnlDOT CRV
Mn/DOT CO File
MnlDOT CRU Project File
