Parks & Recreation Comminee Meeting Minutes 03-04-09 in the Parks Program, the cost was prohibitive at $1,000 and $400 respectively. Council Member Lee felt there were less expensive options and he will do some research and report back at the next committee meeting. The committee felt budgeting $1,000 for three (3) different Music in the Park events should be sufficient Budget Discussion - 2009 Proiects & 5 Year Capital Improvement Plan Due to the length of this meeting the committee had nothing further to add to the budget discussion at the February 4, 2009 committee meeting other than the motion for the YMCA Park Days at $1,200 and future consideration of $1,000 funding for Music in the Park. Council Member Lee informed the committee that due to budget cuts the committee would have approximately $12,500 in the 2009 budget. Accelerator Retrofit Package Recall/Game Time for a piece of plav equipment at Lauric LaMotte Memorial Park Mr. Paul Palzer, Public Works Director, brought it to the committee's attention that there is a recall notice to a piece in the play structure at Lauric LaMotte Memorial Park. The company will come out and remove the piece and replace it with a pole that from the paperwork just looks like a filler. Chairperson Seeley asked Mr. Palzer to contact the company for more information as to what the piece was being replaced with and whether the City was entitled to a refund. VI. UPDATES Park Sign age Vice-Chairperson Amundsen is still working on the signs and should have something to Mr. Palzer in the next week or so. Tree Removal at Eagle Park The representative from the DNR was supposed to come out and mark the trees to be removed, but has not done so as of yet. Vice-Chairperson Amundsen said he would like to do the cutting project in April. Fete des Lacs 2009 Centerville Lake Run/Walk Committee Member Branch was not in attendance at the committee meeting but had emailed updates which were included in the packet for the committee's review. Council Member Lee said one of the items the Centerville Lions wanted to discuss was did the committee foresee the need to move any of the satellites being rented for Fete des Lacs to the race route and was the committee willing to share some of the cost of the satellites? In discussion the committee did not feel it necessary to move the satellites as there were facilities at the start of the race at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park as well as half way through at the Anoka County Regional Park. The committee briefly discussion the need for and placement of Lion's is looking first aid stations, water stations and placement of volunteers. This discussion will be continued further at the April meeting when Committee member Branch will be in 60f7
