CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> <br />February 4, 2009 Joint City Council and Parks & Recreation Committee Work Session Meeting <br />Minutes <br /> <br />City Council approved these minutes at the February 11, 2009 City Council Meeting. <br /> <br />February 4, 2009 Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Motion was made by Chairperson Seeley, seconded by Committee Member Selander, to approve <br />the January 7, 2009 Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes as is. All in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />V. COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Trail Project <br /> <br />This item was discussed under Appearances. <br /> <br />Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park Pond <br /> <br />This item was discussed under Appearances. <br /> <br />Summer Programs <br /> <br />YMCA/Wargo Nature Center <br /> – This item was discussed under Appearances. The following motion <br />was made: <br /> <br />Motion was made by Chairperson Seeley, seconded by Committee Member Selander to <br />recommend City Council expend funds not to exceed $1,200 to support the YMCA Park Plays <br />Days at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park for the 2009 Summer Programs. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Battle of the Bands/Boards <br /> – This event was very well attended by the community in 2008 and the <br />committee would like to be able to offer this again in 2009. Council Member Lee will donate the use <br />of his equipment again this year for the Battle of the Bands. Committee Member Lee is willing to <br />organize and be responsible for advertising the event. The date the committee would like to choose for <br />the first event would be Saturday, June 20, 2009 and then the Saturday of Fete des Lacs, August 8, <br />2009 for the second event. Committee Member Lee will contact Ollie & Company as to their <br />availability. Holding this event during Fete des Lacs can be discussed with the Centerville Lions when <br />they meet with the committee. This will be added to the April agenda. <br /> <br />BBQ at Hidden Springs – <br />This item will be discussed further at future meetings. <br /> <br />Music in the Park <br /> – The committee received information and a CD from a local group of musicians, <br />Brady’s Big Band (16 piece big band) & Jill and the Jacks (a smaller combo) which Chairperson <br />Seeley listened to. While Chairperson Seeley thought the music would be a great addition to the Music <br />5 of 7 <br /> <br />
