<br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1/fJ9-0& <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION DECLARING COST TO BE ASSESSED AND ORDERING <br />PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT AND CALLING FOR A <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON 21'1 A VENUEIBACKAGE ROAD IMPROVEMENT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, bids have been received, and costs have been determined for the improvement of 21't <br />Avenue from a point approximately 600 feet south of Main Street to a point approximately 1,400 feet <br />south of Main Street and continuing on a new unnamed street parallel to Main Street westerly to 20th <br />Avenue, by installation of watermain, sanitary sewer, street pavement, curb, storm sewer and related <br />drainage improvements, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the contract price for the improvement is $1,163,526 and the expenses to be incurred in <br />the making of such improvement amount to $816,847 so that the total cost of the improvement will be <br />$1,980,373. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CENTERVILLE, <br />MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1. By Joint Powers Agreement, the City ofLino Lakes has paid $153,500. <br /> <br />2. The portion of the cost of such improvement to be paid by the city is hereby declared to be $35,509 <br />and the portion to be assessed against benefiting property is declared to be $1,791,364 <br /> <br />3. The City Administrator, with the assistance of the consulting engineer shall forthwith calculate the <br />proper amount to be specially assessed for such improvement against every assessable lot, piece or <br />parcel of land within the district affected, without regard to cash valuation, as provided by law and <br />in accordance with the adopted assessment policy of the City, and he shall file a copy of such <br />proposed assessment in his office for public inspection. <br /> <br />4. A hearing shall be held on the 27th day of May, 2009, at City Hall, at 6:30 p.m. to pass upon the <br />proposed assessment and at such time and place all persons owning property affected by such <br />improvement will be given an opportunity to be heard with reference to such assessment. <br /> <br />5. The City Administrator is hereby directed to cause a notice of the hearing on the proposed <br />assessment to be published once in the official newspaper at least two weeks prior to the hearing <br />and he shall state in the notice the total cost of the improvement. He shall also cause mailed notice <br />to be given to the owner of each parcel described in the assessment roll not less than two weeks <br />prior to the hearing. <br /> <br />Adopted by the City Council this 25th day of February, 2009. <br /> <br />'21J~ <br />.?
