This document was the result <br />of a memo that the Mayor presented the Council in March. <br /> <br />Recently, Staff reviewed the goals and objectives and the following are updates to the <br />Council's Goals and Objectives for 2001 & 2002. <br /> <br />Examine Communication Methods. Completed. The Ad Hoc Committee that <br />Council formed presented their report to Council in November 2001. Council directed <br />Staff of work with GovOffice to update the City Web site and to purchase a digital <br />camera. To date, Staffhas contacted GovOffice and has scheduled to meet with them <br />Monday, Jan. 7,2002. <br /> <br />Economic Development and Planning: <br />Item I.Connnercial and Industrial Concept and Streetscape Plans. Council approved <br />$3,500 to be paid to Shea Architects who did some preliminary landscaping work for the <br />City. <br />Item 2. Develop Presentation Quality for City. EDC have worked with Media Junction <br />to produce a draft brochure. <br /> <br />Infrastructu re Planning. Staff is currently working with City engineers on the <br />Surface Water and Storm Water Management Plan. <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning: <br />Item 1. Education and Training. To be completed by June 2002. The Government <br />Training Services does offer planning and zoning seminars that familiarize attendees with <br />planning and zoning administrative laws, state statutes, and accepted practices and <br />concepts in land use, planning and zoning. These sessions are usually held in February <br />and March. The Administrator, Planning and Zoning Commission and Councilmember <br />Broussard Vickers are members ofthe American Planning Association. <br />
