The committee should also explore using
Centerville Elementary School for supervised recreational activities t.hroughout
the year. The committee is encouraged to contact Lino Lakes Park and
Recreation to determine if there are any opportunities that could benefit citizens
of both communities. This item is intended to enhance recreational opportunities
that already exist such as Little League Baseball and soccer eta!. Again in may
be too late to implement this in 2001. If so, summer 2002 is the target date for
implementation.

~ Swimming
Swimming is another pilot project and there couid be many more ideas that
surface. Also explore providing safe and supervised swimming opportunities at
CenterviJIe Beach for all citizens. Included in this item may be bus service,
supervision, lifeguards and other items that may be deemed necessary to
accomplish the goal of safe access and supervision of the Centerville Beach
swimming area. Hours of operation and other implementation issues are to be
determined through a cooperative agreement with the County Park. It may nol be
feasible to launch this program this summer, but it should be implemented by
next summer. Try it out lfthere is low turnout we won'! do it.

Responsible Leaders: Jim March and Park and Recreation Committee
Product Develop an appropriate agreement with Anoka County Parks for approval of
Council and implementation.
Tlmeiine: Summer 2001 or 2002
Comments: Explore if an agreement is possible, try it
Piiot Plan Eva!lJatk.%'l: September 200.1 or 2002

Action Taken:
~ Councii approval ror conslflJcrion bias ror the WheelS Parlt and elsCAnGal
improvements 2S LaMotte Park.

011 the Horizoi'l:
~ May receive DNR grant money for additional LaMotte Park impfG\lements

^Id
