<br />terrestrial. <br /> <br />5 Am~ndcd: <br />4 Am~ndcd: 2/19/02 <br />3 Amended: 9/4/01 <br />2 Amended: 6/27/01 <br />I Amended: IIlO/Ot <br />Effoclive 9/5/00 <br />City ofCcnterville On!. #4 <br /> <br />Performance Standard - A criterion established to control appearance, noise, odor, toxic or noxious <br />malter, vibration, fire and explosive hazards, glare, heat, waste and other potential impacts generated by <br />or inherent in uses of land or buildings. <br /> <br />Planned Unit Development - A tract of land, which will contain two or more principal structures, <br />developed under unified ownership or control, the deveiopment of which may be unique and of a <br />substantially different character than that of the surrounding area. <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning Commission - The Planning Commission of the City of Centerville. <br /> <br />Plat - The drawing or map of a subdivision prepared for filing of record pursuant to Chapter 505 and <br />containing all elements and requirements set forth in applicable local regulations adopted pursuant to <br />Section 462.358 and Chapter 505. . <br /> <br />Portable Sign - Any sign not permanently attached to the ground or other permanent structure, or a sign <br />designed to be transported, including, but not limited to, signs designed to be transported by means of <br />wheels; signs converted to A- or T-frames; menu and sandwich board signs; umbrellas used for <br />advertising; and signs attached to or painted on vehicles parked and visible from the public right of way, <br />unless said vehicle is used in the normal day-to-day operations of the business. <br /> <br />Principal Use or Principal Structure - The main use to which the premises are devoted and the <br />purpose for which the premises exist. <br /> <br />Private Property - Any real property within the City which is privately owned and which is not a public <br />property as defined in this section. <br /> <br />Public Hearing - An official public meeting, which notice has been published in the official newspaper. <br /> <br />Public Property - Any street or highway that includes the entire width between the boundary lines of <br />every way publicly maintained for the purposes of vehicular travel, and shall also mean any other publicly <br />owned property or facility. <br /> <br />Recreational Use - Golf courses, tennis courts, driving ranges, archery ranges, picnic grounds, boat <br />launches ramps, swimming areas, parks, wildlife and nature preserves, game farms, fish hatcheries, <br />shooting preserves, target ranges, trap and skeet ranges, hunting and fishing areas, hiking, bicycling and <br />horseback riding trails. <br /> <br />Recreational Vehicles - A mobile vehicle, including boats, used for recreationai purposes capable of <br />being towed or being self-propelled. <br /> <br />Residential Facility - A state licensed residential facility, defined by Chapter 462, <br />Page 1001'69 <br />
