<br />j Amended: <br />4 Amended: 2/19/02 <br />3 Amended: 9/4/0 I <br />2 Amended: 6/27/01 <br />I Amended: II I %I <br />Effective 9/5/00 <br />City of CentcrviJle Ord. #4 <br />Alteration, Structural - Any change in the supporting members of a building or structure, such as <br />bearing walls, columns, beams, or girders; provided, however, the application of any exterior siding to an <br />existing building for the purpose of beautifying and modernizing shall not be considered a structural <br />alteration. <br /> <br />Antenna - Any system of wires, poles, rods, reflecting discs, satellite dishes or similar devices used for <br />the transmission or reception of electromagnetic waves external to or attached to the exterior of any <br />building. <br /> <br />Apartment - A room or suite of rooms, including bath and kitchen facilities, in a multiple-family building <br />designed for occupancy by a single family. <br /> <br />Apartment, Accessory - An apartment that is secondary and incidental to a principal use or building. <br /> <br />Area Identification Sign - A freestanding sign which identifies the name of a residential subdivision, <br />commercial or industrial development. <br /> <br />,asement - A portion of a building located partly underground, having more then 50% of its f1oor-to- <br />eiling height below the average grade of the adjoining ground. Split level, split entry and earth sheltered <br />homes shall be construed to satisfy basement requirements. <br /> <br />Block - A tract of land bounded by streets, or a combination of streets, parks, cemeteries, railroad rights- <br />of-way, shore lines, waterways or corporate boundary lines of the City. <br /> <br />Board - The Board of Appeals and Adjustments of the City of Centerville. <br /> <br />Boathouse - A structure designed and used solely for the storage of boats or boating equipment. <br /> <br />Building - Any structure having a roof which may provide shelter or enclosure of persons, animal or <br />chattel, and when said structure is divided by party walls without openings, each portion of such building <br />so separated shall be deemed a separate building. <br /> <br />Buildable Area - The space remairiing on a zoning lot after minimum yard and open space requirements <br />have been met. <br /> <br />Building Coverage - See Lot Coverage. <br /> <br />Building Height - See Height. <br /> <br />i1ding Line - The line, parallel to the street line, that passes through the point of the principal building <br />nearest the front lot line. <br /> <br />Building, Principal - See Principal Building. <br />Page 3 01'69 <br />
