We would welcome the opportunity to offer the
program to Centerville. It is best is we can do the presentation in a "workshop" sort of atmosphere, with the city
council, planning commission, parks commission, environmental committee, etc, and staff in attendance. The
presentation usually takes ahout 40 minutes, but plan on an hour with discussion. It is nice ifthe time limit is open
ended, I have had~e of these question/discussion sessions run several hours. The initial presentation is d""il,'Tled to
give some background on the prohlems that we tace with storm water and give some ideas on how we can start dealing
with them. Follow-up pr""entations cover a range of topics which include: getting started on a natural resource
inventory, developing effective storm watcr ordinances, Low Impact Development/Conservation Site Design, creating a
storm water utility to pay tor improvements, developing local programs to meet the NPDES Phase n requirements. This
is just a tew of the topics that we can come hack and work with you on.

There is 110 charge for our programs, our services are funded through grants from the Metropolitan Council and the
McKnight Fonndatinn.

Please let me know if you need more intolTI1ution, or would like to get together and go over the presentation.

Thank You!

Jay Michels
Minnesota Erosion Control Association
POBox 17
Lake ElIno, MN 55042
P-65 1-35 1-0630
F-651-35l-0629
Email: .in1k;hels@t~kvp1}i1itt:ur!1

4/5/02
