Sponsored by the NLC Institute fur Youth, Education and Families, the "Your City's Families Conference" helps leaders learn new strategies and develop action plans to implement them. The YEF Institute strongly encourages communities to send teams of at least fuur city officials and other local leaders in order to get the most out of the conference, which operates on a dual track. Participants learn new information and ideas through plenary sessions, panel discussions, and workshops. At the same time, teams have the opportunity to pursue an individualized process of planning and agenda-setting with the assistanceofafucilitatoL By working together during the conference, many teams are able to translate the experience into collaborative action when they return home.
