ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br /> <br />1, Deferred Comp Report <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft reported that Mr. McDonald and Mr. Heefuer had prepared a draft of <br />the letter to the Attorney General and he will be reviewing it shortly. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked whether the IRS had been contacted. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft indicated he had not talked to Mr. Heefner but will ask him about the <br />IRS situation. <br /> <br />2. Finance Director (update) <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes reported the City would be conducting interviews from 10: 15 a.m. to <br />3:15 p.m. on March 28,2002 for four candidates. She then asked that Council be at City <br />Hall by 9:45 p.m. to discuss how she likes to run interviews. <br /> <br />3. Logis (Update) <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes provided Council with a report trom Logis. She then pointed out that <br />the major computer concem for the City is that the backups are not adequate enough to <br />provide for retrieval in the event of a major meltdown. She also indicated that the City <br />would need a network server to do an adequate backup and said the City has no current <br />antivirus software. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg expressed concern with the recommendation of Office SP because <br />windows is more stable and less hackproff. He then commented that businesses have <br />been going with windows over office because of reliability issues. He further commented <br />that he is not sure how to pay for this system. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes suggested using the $17,000 from the intern's position. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg expressed concern that, when creating this much hardware, the City <br />would be creating a systems administrator position to run this system. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that the joint powers agreement between the cities allows for <br />more purchasing power as well as technical support but it comes with a price. She then <br />said she had provided the information for review and it would be discussed further at a <br />later date. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson said she would like to wait until the City knows what its <br />liabilities will be. <br /> <br />Page 16 of/8 <br />
