<br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION & MEETING <br /> JULY 28, 2004 <br />5:30 & 6:30 p.m. RESPECTIVELY <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their regularly scheduled <br />worksession on July 28, 2004, at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />Mayor Terry Sweeney <br /> Council Member Paar <br /> Council Member Broussard Vickers <br /> Council Member Capra <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br />Council Member Lee <br /> <br />STAFF: <br />Public Works Director Mr. Palzer <br /> City Attorney Mr. Hoeft <br /> City Engineer Mr. Peterson <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney called the July 28, 2004, City Council work session meeting to order at <br />5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Personnel Policy <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding the personnel policy and Council members would submit <br />letters of concerns to the City Administrator prior to the August 11, 2004 meeting. <br /> <br />Police Building <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding the proposed/potential purchase of a police building and <br />Council had concerns regarding special levy timeframes and legal ramifications if a <br />default occurred by one (1) of the three (3) cities. Brief discussion ensued regarding <br />discussion with the City of Hugo for police coverage. <br /> <br />2005 Budget <br /> <br />Council discussed the 2005 City budget, the need for financial advisory assistance and <br />options. Consensus was to approach the previous Finance Director to ascertain her <br />willingness to assist the City in this process. <br /> <br />The Mayor closed the work session at 6:29 p.m. <br />The Mayor opened the regularly scheduled Council meeting at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />
